5 Maintenance Tips for Your Multi-Functional Device

In the current climate it is so important to maintain and care for our office equipment, whether we are working from home or onsite.  Apart from the impact a malfunction can have on team productivity – now we have lot of other considerations to think of, so better to be safe than sorry and take that extra bit of care!

  1. Be careful of the electrics!

Always make sure the device is switched off before any cleaning takes place. We also advise that you switch your machine off at the end of every working day, to allow the system reboot.

  1. Read the manual

Take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the machine itself and read the user manual. It is important that you are aware of the pertinent information available as this can come in handy if you experience a blip or have a small issue with your machine. Also remember to make sure everyone who need to,  knows where the manual is and that it is easily accessible.

  1. Keep It Clean
  • Clean and inspect your device daily using a lint free cloth to wipe the exterior and a soft dry cloth to wipe the interior.
  • For hard to reach areas we advise a can of compressed air. These simple steps can extend the life of your device.
  • Use a non abrasive cloth and glass cleaner on your MFD’s glass to ensure marks or lines don’t destroy your prints.

  1. Daily checks

Simple tasks like removing paper drawers, checking for stuck paper, clearing paper jams and checking rollers and glass will help you spot potential problems before they arise.

There are problems you can troubleshoot on your own, and there are those which require the help of technicians.
